New base of Emergency Medical Services in Boskovice

Thanks to ESOX, a brand-new base for the Emergency Medical Service (ZZS JMK) of the South Moravian Region has been built in the western section of the Boskovice hospital premises. The previous base, which had been in use since 1996, no longer met the technical or capacity requirements of the paramedic workers.

The new base accommodates two ambulance groups, one of which includes a doctor, with plans for future expansion to three ambulance groups. The two-story building, constructed to passive standards and devoid of a basement, spans an area of 592 square meters and features a flat roof. Heating, cooling, and hot water needs are primarily met through ground-to-water heat pumps. Additionally, the base boasts a photovoltaic power plant comprising 66 panels with a capacity of 450Wp, contributing to sustainable energy practices. Rainwater harvesting systems are incorporated for the purpose of toilet flushing.

The ground floor of the facility is dedicated to parking four ambulances and includes storage areas for medical supplies, linens, infectious waste, sorted municipal waste, and sanitation equipment. On the upper floor, facilities for the crew are provided.

Construction of the new base commenced in October 2021, concluding in January 2023, with the official inauguration taking place in March. The South Moravian Region spearheaded the construction investment, amounting to CZK 59.5 million exclusive of VAT.
