A new, contemporary facility for the elderly, known as the Hustopeče Home for the Elderly, was constructed adjacent to the polyclinic on Hybešova Street in Hustopeče, situated in the Břeclav region. In 2022, the facility welcomed its first residents. Before commencing construction, ESOX, the winning bidder for the general contractor tender, updated the approximately ten-year-old project to align with current standards. As a result, the four-story building complies with the B-class energy standard.
The Hustopeče Home for the Elderly, spanning 52 beds, operates under specialized care, catering to individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, advanced age, or other forms of dementia requiring assistance. The entire structure is wheelchair accessible, comprising four above-ground floors and one underground level.
Construction of the new facility entailed establishing water connections, sewage disposal systems linked to the public sewerage network, outdoor sewage infrastructure, a grease trap, and new gas and electricity connections, along with outdoor lighting installation.
The facility boasts a sophisticated HVAC system, incorporating ventilation for the kitchen area, forced ventilation for emergency escape routes, daily ventilation for communal spaces, ventilation for all sleeping areas, and comprehensive building air conditioning. Additionally, to facilitate communication between staff and clients during emergencies, the facility is equipped with a dedicated communication system. In case of power outages, a backup diesel generator is on standby, primarily powering medical equipment and fire safety systems.
Accommodation within the home consists of single and double rooms, complemented by lounges, a dining area, and relaxation zones. Dedicated spaces are provided for doctors and nurses, while the facility features its own kitchen, laundry facilities, and amenities for hairdressing and pedicure services. Three lifts are available for use by clients and staff, including one evacuation bed lift, one passenger lift, and one freight lift.
ESOX oversaw construction from September 2020 to April 2022, with the initial residents moving in during July 2022. The South Moravian Region invested CZK 102.7 million in construction, exclusive of VAT.
